Currency and FX on velqa.dev — balances in USD, display in dirhams (MAD)

On Velqa, amounts are stored internally in USD but displayed in your local currency — Moroccan dirham (MAD) by default — using a daily exchange rate. The exact amount charged in MAD is always shown in the dashboard.

How it works

  • Internal storage in USD: your balance and usage costs are accounted for in dollars.
  • Display in MAD: the dashboard converts and shows amounts in your currency, rounded, using an exchange rate updated daily.
  • Exact amount: the precise amount charged in MAD (for a top-up, a subscription or usage) is shown in the dashboard.

This is also why some settings — such as the low-balance alert threshold — are expressed in USD: they act on the internally stored value. See Auto top-up and low-balance alert.

Currency based on your country

The display currency follows the detected country. If you are in Morocco, prices and balances show in MAD. You can check the currency in use in the dashboard settings.

Why the rate can change

Because the USD → MAD rate is refreshed daily, the same USD amount can map to a slightly different MAD amount from one day to the next. The amount actually charged is the one shown at the time of the operation in the dashboard.
